CHILDREN'S THEATRE LABORATORY
How would you wander through a stormy forest or a burning hot desert? How would you enter a haunted house and pickup a box with your hands? How is it possible to make the audience see an imaginary big cat on stage? Or a lion?
Pantomime is the art of the invisible. To mime is almost like being a magician who makes the invisible world visible to the audience through gestures, body language, facial expressions and actions.
In the pantomime workshop we will work with the body and learn how we isolate the movement of different body parts. The goal is to use our body language to fill the empty stage with spaces, objects, colors, moods, and anything else that is possible to imagine. We learn a few basic pantomime exercises and improvise short stories in our landscape of fantasy.
We finish the workshop with a little presentation for parents and friends.
